Record quarterly performance by Balmer Lawrie

Kolkata, Oct 23 (UNI) Balmer Lawrie and Company Ltd, a mini Ratna Category-I PSE, has posted excellent results for the second quarter of the current year with total income of Rs 363.48 crore, up by 13 per cent from Rs 321.85 crore.

The unaudited financial results for the half year, which ended on September 30, were approved at the Board meeting of the company held today, showing a quantum rise in both the topline as well as bottomline.

The total income for the three month period which ended on September, 2007 was Rs 363.48 crore, up by 13 per cent from Rs 321.85 crore.

The total income for the half year, ending on September 30, stood at Rs 726.15 crore as compared to Rs 635.33 crore, company sources said.

The profit before tax showed a sharp increase of 35 per cent at Rs 38.29 crore as against Rs 28.46 crore in the same period last year. Profit after tax for the half year, ending on September 30, 2007,was Rs 68.79 crore as compared to Rs 55.36 crore for the same period last year.

Similarly, the net profit for the quarter increased to Rs 25.99 crore as compared to Rs 18.95 crore.
