Programmes held on former Vice President Shekhawat's birthday
Jaipur, Oct 23 (UNI) A number of religious and public programmes were held here today to felicitate former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on his 85th birth day.
A blood donation camp was organised by youths and Mr Shekhawat was felicitated at a function held at a private college in Mansarovar here, for his contribution to society during his 60-year-long public life.
A function was also held at Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital here to felicitate Mr Shekhawat who was instrumental in the establishment of this premier cancer treatment center during his term as Rajasthan Chief Minister.
Rajasthan Governor Shilendra Kumar Singh and a number of dignitaries greeted Mr Shekhawat. Mr Singh drove to Mr Shekhawat's residence here last night o greet him on the eve of his birthday.
Meanwhile, a large number of people from different walks of life thronged the former Vice-President's residence in Civil Lines here to wish him. Pleasantaries were exchanged and sweets were distributed on the occasion.
