North-east Monsoon vigorous in Tamil Nadu

Pune, Oct 23 (UNI) The northeast monsoon has been vigorous in Tamil Nadu and active in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Vidarbha, coastal Karnataka and were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Orissa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and Konkan and Goa. They were markedly below normal in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh and were below normal in some parts of west Rajasthan, Rayalaseema, Tamil nadu and south interior Karnataka and normal over the rest of the regions.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Madhya Pradesh, south Gujarat region, north Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and were below normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, north Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch, south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and in remaining parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, west Madhya Pradesh. They were appreciably above normal in sopme parts of west rajasthan and telangana and above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy to very heavy rainS are likely at most places in Tamil Nadu and at many places in Kerala.

Heavy rains are likely at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in coastal and south interior Karnataka and a few places in Telangana, north interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, south Konkan and Goa. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat State, north konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep and at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Very light rain had occurred at isolated places in north interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and at isolated places in Konkan and Goa, telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
