Kathmandu, Oct 23 (UNI) The Nepal government has decided to ask the Army to complete construction of 11 roads linking several district headquarters.
The road projects handed over to the Army include Surkhet, Jumla, Jomsom, Baglung, Beni, Mustang, Besi-sahar, Chame, Musikot, Bhurtibang, Chhimchu and Jajarkot, Kantipur quoted vice chairman of National Planning Commission Dr Jagadish Chandra Pokharel as saying.
''The Army has been entrusted with the responsibility of completing 11 road projects as part of the government's ambitious plan to connect all 75 district headquarters to the national road mainstream within three years.
''All the districts in the country will have roads by the next three years,'' he added.
District headquarters Jumla, Kalikot and Jajarkot - all in mid west- have already been connected with the roadways this year.
Bajhang, Mugu, Humla, Dolpa, Mustang, Manang, Solu and Bhojpur districts are yet to be connected through road.
