New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) Microsoft (MS) India today launched its business communications software, MS Unified Communications (MSUC), that will enable its enterprises clients cut down VoIP and conferencing costs by 25-30 per cent.

''The software will enable employees within organisations to communicate through emails, phone, instant messaging, video conference while in office or on the move,'' said MSUC Group Senior Director (Product Management) Eric Swift.

The software will also offer substancial cost savings as it allows businesses to leverage existing IT and telephony infrastructure.

With no need to rip and replace current telephony infrastructure such as EPBAX systems, he added.

The software has four components--MS Office Communications Server 2007, MS Communicator 2007, MS Office Live Meeting and Service pack update of MS Exchange Server 2007.

''The software provides services like voice mail, calendering and also allows a user a unified messaging platform,'' said Mr Swift.

The company believes the mid market segment will be a major market.

''We feel the financial institutions and the government sectors will be early adopters of the system. PSUs and the defence sector have expressed interest,'' added Mr Sanjay manchanda MS Director (Business Division).

Companies like NIIT, Godrej and Marico have already started using the software.
