HBO growing strongly in India

Bangalore, Oct 23 (UNI) Aiming a strong growth of 20 to 25 per cent HBO (Home Box Office) TV Channel today announced its festive offering of a slew of Hollywood cinemas for the Indian audience during the next three months.

With a reach of 27 million households HBO had planned 15 premiers during the next three months with special line ups including Diwali Buffet, Superman Fest, X'mas Special, Wicket Hour and See it First.

Talking to newsmen here HBO Asia Country Manager Shruti Bajpai said the biggest premiere of the season would be Mission Impossible III, one of the most talked about film of 2006, to be telecast on November Nine.

Ms Shruti said HBO believed in providing quality entertainment to its viewers with the best of intrnational programming and content in the movie genre.

Stating that the channel had the best of cooperation from the Indian Censor Board that HBO had already got clearances for the movies to be telecast in November and the certification is provided within 15 days of submission.

She said HBO had been gaining strong foothold in the country and was programming movie schedule in such a way to ensure the growth rate is maintained.
