Chennai, Oct 23 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government will launch the fourth phase of the scheme, providing assistance to jobless youth on October 26 across the State.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said State Ministers would launch the functions at various places on that day, benefitting 3.53 lakh youth, according to an official release here.
The scheme, announced in the DMK's poll manifesto, would provide Rs 150 as monthly assistance to tenth standard passed students registered with employment exchange for more than five years, Rs 200 for those who had cleared twelfth standard and Rs 300 for under-graduates and post-graduates.
Mr Karunanidhi had launched the first phase of the scheme on November 11, 2006, in Tiruchirapalli, second phase on February 24 this year in Coimbatore and the third phase in Chennai on July 29.
So far, 3.38 lakh youths have benefitted from the scheme.
