Four private universities to be set up in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Oct 23 (UNI) In a significant move aimed at encouraging the private sector's in participation higher education, the Rajasthan Government has cleared proposals for setting up four private universities in the state.

The way for etablishment of Jaipur National University, Amity University Jaipur, Singhania University Jhunjhunu and Sir Padampat University Udaipur, was paved with the issuance of requisite ordinance last evening.

''The four projects involve an investment of Rs 235 crore and promisess qualitative boost in higher education'', Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari observed.

The four universities would not only provide opportunities for admission in various professional and job oriented courses to around 3,600 students but would also provide employment to about 5000 people, Mr Tiwari added.
