Central Bank to open five more branches in HP

Hamirpur, Oct 23, (UNI) The Central Bank of India today announced its decision to open five more branches in Himachal Pradesh (HP), taking the number of its branches in the state to 34.

Talking to mediapersons here, bank's Zonal Manager P V Ravindran said the number of branches in the state would go up to 34, of which nine were in the rural areas.

He said the bank was awaiting the Reserve Bank of India's approval before opening new branches in the state.

Core banking facilities would be made available in Hamirpur, Nadaun and Nalagarh branches of the state by March 31 next year, after providing it in Dharamshala and Kharsiol branches by December 2007, Mr Ravindran said.

Earlier, the bank officer held meeting with its employees and customers and listened to their suggestions.
