Achuthanandan to ensure discussion on MC project: Minister

Pathanamthitta, Oct 23 (UNI) Kerala Works Minister Mons Joseph today said the Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan will take steps to initiate discussion on the MC road renovation project.

Talking to newspersons after chairing a review meeting on Sabarimala roads here, he said Mr Achuthanandan spoke to the Malayasian contract company and their response would soon be conveyed to the government.

Mr Josesh said a sum of Rs 17.42 crore had been allotted for the repairing of Sabarimala roads at Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kollam, Moovattupuzha and Ernakulam divisions. Modern technic would be used for the construction of roads, he added.

The Minister said stern action would be initiated against erring officials.

He said as part of the anti-corruption drive, Government would hold talks with the Contractors Association. The quality of construction would be accorded priority, he added.
