Dehradun, Oct 23 (UNI) Six people, including 5 Bangladesh tourists, were killed and 20 others injured in Nainital district of Uttarakhand today when their bus rammed into a standing bus at a blind turn.
According to Commissioner Kumaon Mandal S Raju, the accident occured at around 0200 hrs at Tanda Barrier, 20 km from Haldwani. The dead included three women, and a child. The hired tourist was packed with 26 passengers including 22 from Bangladesh and four Indians.
The Commissioner said that the tourists were returning after visiting Nainital when the accident occured. Twelve of the injured have been admitted to Shushila Tiwari Memorial Hospital, 6 including the seriously wounded, have been admitted to Krishna Nursing Home and rest have been admitted to Haldwani Base Hospital. The seriously wounded person is stated to be in coma. Mr Raju said that the bus was being driven by the helper instead of the driver. He said that the Bangladesh Embassy had been informed about the incident.
