2 shot dead in Kohima

Kohima Oct 23 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen shot dead two people in the New Market area here last night.

Official sources said here today that the victims were found blindfolded and abducted by the gunmen.

One of the victims was identified as a Naga who reportedly served both the factions of NSCN, sources said.

However, the other victim was yet to be identified.

Police recovered four empty cases of 9 mm weapon and two empty cases of .32 pistols from the site.

Sources quoting intelligence sources said the former was wanted by both the factions of NSCN.

Meanwhile, the residents of the area led by Kohima Municipal Council member N Rutsa have condemned the killings.
