Ambala, Oct 22 (UNI) The special CBI court will give its ruling on Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's plea for regular bail in a rape case and two cases of murder conspiracy on October 25.

Special Judge R K Saini reserved his judgement in the case after the defence counsel today completed his arguments in the cases pertaining to the murder of Sirsa-based journalist Ramchander Chhatrapati and former Dera manager Ranjit Singh and rape of woman disciples.

Defence counsel S K Garg contended that the allegations against the Dera chief in these cases were false and politically motivated. These were levelled to tarnish his image, he added.

He also argued that the police and the session judge had earlier said that the Dera chief had no role in the murder of Ramchander Chhatrapati.

Earlier on Saturday, the CBI had strongly opposed Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's plea for regular bail, alleging that he was still threatening the witnesses.

CBI counsel Rajan Gupta had prayed that the agency had definite evidence in the rape case and had statement of the victims under 164 Cr P C.

The counsel said the accused had threatened his former driver Khatta Singh who was CBI's key witness in the murder cases.
