Chennai, Oct 22 (UNI) The monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu assembly was adjourned sine die today.

The session, which commenced on October 17, was marked by uproarious scenes, when Local Administration Minister M K Stalin moved a breach of privilege issue against leader of the opposition and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa, leading to the en masse eviction of AIADMK members.

The privilege case against Ms Jayalalithaa for her remarks against Mr Stalin and Chief Minsiter M Karunanidhi, posing threat to her life, were referred to the privileges committee by the Speaker R Avudaiyappan.

In all, 14 bills, including the one seeking to replace the ordinance, providing exclusive reservation for the backward class Christian and Muslim minorities were passed in the session.

The AIADMK members stalled the proceedings of the house on the opening day and the second day, over the ''intrusion'' of a the at Ms Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence and protesting against alleged scaling down of her security by the government.

When Mr Stalin raised a privilege issue against the AIADMK leader, the members vehemently protested in the house and in the melee, Mr A K Bose, one the members, threw the cap of a watch and ward staff at the speaker. He was suspended for the first ten days of the next session, scheduled for January for the Governor's address.
