Student commits suicide in class room

Kalpetta, Kerala, Oct 22 (UNI) A ninth class student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his class room at Panamaram Government Upper Primary School in Kalpetta district early today.

Police said body of Sharonjit (14) was found hanging by school staff in this morning.

The boy reportedly took the extreme step after he was scolded by his parents for spending Rs 50 given by them.

The body had been sent for a post-mortem after preliminary inquest, police added.
