Police Commemoration Day observed in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 22 (UNI) The Tripura police commemorated about 700 security personnel, who had sacrified their lives last year while discharging their duties.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, along with top officials of the state administration, paid homage to the deceased personnel by placing wreaths in their memory at A D Nagar Police Lines here yesterday.

Besides, a Commemoration Parade was held in their honour and their names were read out at the parade.

Altogether 700 police personnel, including 11 from Tripura, lost their lives during September 2006 to August 2007, official sources said.
