Northwest monsoon active in coastal Andhra Pradesh

Pune, Oct 22 (UNI) The Northeast monsoon has been active in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in north Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Kerala and in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Marathwada. They were appreciably below normal in Sikkim and below normal in Himachal Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Gujarat region, southwest Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and were below normal in north Orissa, south Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, north Madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Haryana, Tamil Nadu. They were above normal in north coastal Karnataka and in some parts of Telangana and Rayalaseems.

They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in south interior Karnataka and at a few places in Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, south Orissa, south Chattisgarh, south Konkan and Goa.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic west Bengal, north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Chattisgarh, Gujarat State, north Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Konkan and Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and at many places in Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, Kerala and at a few places in Rayalaseema and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Telangana, coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic west Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
