Bangalore, Oct 22 (UNI) Mr Jaiprakash Hegde, Independent MLA, has favoured the formation of JD(S)-Congress coalition government once again in Karnataka to avoid mid-term polls to the state Assembly.

Speaking to reporters he claimed that the legislators of both the parties were against the holding of mid-term polls.

He said he had already met the legislators to gather opinion against the continuation of President rule as no work could be taken up during the period.

"They were hesitant to express it openly," he said.

He said he along with Mr S Rajendran (RPI) MLA would take initiative to bring together the legislators of both the parties in a meeting to be held in the next few days. The coalition set up had come to stay and the scenario would continue even if fresh elections were held, he said.

Mr Rajendran was also present at the press meet.
