CM reviews preparations for Global Investors Summit

Bhopal, Oct 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today reviewed preparations for the Global Investors Summit -- to be held on October 26 and 27 at Indore.

The meeting was informed that about 400 investors are likely to participate in the summit. This includes 121 NRIs and foreigners and 253 Indians. Their consents had already been received.

Over 400 rooms had been booked in different hotels of Indore for them. Rooms had also been booked in Bhopal for the investors, who prefer to come to Bhopal and then proceed to Indore, an official release said.

As many as 36 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 98,000 crore are likely to be signed at the summit.

A MoU for about Rs 50,000 crore is likely to be signed by Reliance Energy on the first day of the summit.

A warm welcome would be accorded to investors, coming on October 25 at the airport and the hotels.

Mr Chouhan would inaugurate an exhibition at the Indore Development Authority Ground at 1800 hours on the same day.

The summit would be inaugurated at 1030 hrs at Indore Development Authority Ground. Discussions with the investors would be held about prospects of investment in the state.

The afternoon session would feature discussions on investment prospects in tourism, civil aviation, housing, urban development, SEZ, auto track, auto component, pharma, mining, textiles, technology and higher education sectors.

The evening session would feature discussions on investment opportunities in road, rail, IT, agriculture, food processing, medicinal cultivation, logistics, warehousing, energy, health and medical tourism.

The Chief Minister would also hold one-to-one meetings with prospective investors and industrialists.

In the evening, participants would be taken on a visit to Pithampur and Dewas industrial areas. A cultural programme would be held in the night on October 26 at the Indore Development Authority Ground.

On October 27, MoUs would be signed in the presence of the Chief Minister at 1030 hrs. The concluding function would be held at 12 noon.

Industries Minister Jayant Malaiya, Principal Secretary (Industries) Avani Vaish, MPSIDC Managing Director Praveen Garg, Secretaries to the Chief Minister, Mr S P S Parihar, Mr Iqbal Singh Bains and Mr Anurag Jain attended the meeting, the release added.
