CII policy aims at 5 per cent Raj share in GDP by 2015

Jaipur, Oct 22 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) has submitted to the Rajasthan Government a draft of new industrial policy for the state, which aimed at increasing the state's contribution to national GDP from present 3.99 per cent to five per cent by 2015.

Talking to reporters here today, CII Rajasthan Chapter Chairman R K Poddar said that the draft policy was prepared by CII and its knowledge partner Yes Bank on a mandate given by the state government.

The proposed draft policy addressed a gamut of vital issues which affect industrial investment and stressed for comprehensive and synchronised approach on whole spectrum of industry related problems and simplified implementation and handling of those issues.

Targeted industrial growth of 15 per cent, double employment generation in industry, 100 per cent increase in the exports by 2015 and vocational training to five lakh people by five years are other silent features in the proposed draft.

Mr Poddar said that Chief Secretary DC Samant has assured of speedy follow up action on the CII draft policy.

Mr Poddar said that formulation of industrial policy was pending before the state government for long and the same should be formulated soon.
