Aisam likely to play in second Indo-Pak tennis series

By Staff

Lahore, Oct 22 (UNI) Top Pakistani tennis player including Aisamul Haq Qureshi and Nida Waseem will be seen in action in the second Indo-Pak tennis series next month.

Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) secretary Major (retd) Rashid Khan said confirming Aisam participation in the tournament.

''Aisam has given his consent, while efforts are afoot to acquire the services of Nida who is studying Bar at Law in London,'' he was quoted by 'Dawn'.

The first leg of the four-match series will be played at Lahore on November 13-14 followed by the second at Islamabad on November 15-16. Pakistan team will travel to India sometime next year to play the second leg of the tournament, he added.

The inaugural four-Test series between the two foes, launched last year, ended in a stalemate. Pakistan won the Lahore and Chandigarh games while, India triumphed at Islamabad and Delhi.

The secretary said a five-member Pakistan team comprising three men and two women will be announced in a week's time. India, he said, is likely to submit the lineup in a day or two, which is a pre-requisite for getting visa.
