Dehra Dun, Oct 22 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed, 21 others injured while three went missing in separate road accidents in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand late last night.
Ten people were killed and one person was injured when a car (Tata Sumo), heading towards Sonali from Shivanand village at Chamoli, fell into Alaknanda River late last night.
The injured had been admitted to the Karnprayag Hospital.
In a separate incident, a Jeep fell into a deep gorge at Narainbagad-Porkhal Motor Road killing two people and injuring 11 others. Three were reported to be missing. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital and search for the missing was on.
In yet another incident, a truck fell into 65-metre-deep gorge near Aamsaund Karnaprayag-Narain Bagad Road, killing one person on the spot and injuring another.
The fourth accident took place at Gouchar Siddhouli Motor Road when a bus, heading towards Gopeshwar from Barthouli Sidhhouli village carrying a marriage party including the bride, fell into 15-metre-deep gorge injuring eight passengers, three of them seriously. The injured have been referred to the Srinagar Base Hospital while the rest had been admitted to the Gouchar Primary Heath Centre.
