Ten year old servant tortured by employers

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) In a case of brutal torture of a minor servant at a shop by the owners, the Delhi Police have registered an FIR against owner of a electrical goods shop in Old Delhi for merciless beating of Alam, a ten-year-old employed at the shop.

Alam, who had been serving for the last ten months at the shop at Meena Bazar near Chandni, was beaten 'black and blue' by Hasan and Sahab, sons of the owner Sazaddin, when he demanded payment of his pending three months' salary amounting to Rs 1500, police said.

After persistant demands by Alam for payment of his pending dues, Hasan and Sahab beat him mercilessly, even placing a burning cigarette on his stomach, and thereafter locked him up in the shop on October 17 and October 18.

However, after Police came to know of the incident on the evening of October 18, they freed the boy, who was admitted to the Loknayak Jaiprakash hospital with multiple injuries.

A hunt is on for Hasan and Sahab and a case of torture has been registered against Hasan and Sahab who have been absconding after the incident.

Meanwhile, an MRI scan of Alam will be conducted tomorrow to ascertain the gravity of his injury, police said.
