By Staff

Ahmedabad, Oct 21 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold day-night matches under Ultratek-NKP Salve Challenger Trophy from October 25 to October 28 at the Sardar Patel Stadium Motera, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) president Narhari Amin said today.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said on October 25, 26 and 27, preparatory matches will be played between India Blue, India Red and India Green.

In these matches, India Red will be led by Mohammad Kaif while India Blue by Virendra Sehwag and India Green by Parthiv Patel.

All arrangements have been made for the four one-day Challenger Trophy matches, he said.

Mr Amin said after each match, a ''Man of the Match'' would be announced. On the last day, a prize money of Rs 50,000 would be announced for the best performance.

The team for the up coming Pakistan series would be selected during the Challenger Trophy, which is likely on October 27, he said, adding on October 26 the selectors would arrive and the selection could be held on that day itself or the next day.

The sale of tickets would commence from October 23 at the Sardar Patel Sports Club stadium here and at Motera from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs. The tickets would be prized from Rs 50 to Rs 300 for the lower pavillion. The lower pavillion is prized nominally at Rs 300 which, otherwise, would be Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000, Mr Amin said.

To a query as to when the practise matches would be played, he said the teams would arrive on October 23 and thereafter, they could start playing practise matches in the night under floodlights.

However, matches are likely from October 24.
