Monsoon was vigorous over the State
Bangalore, Oct 21: Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
BHARATH SARKAR Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over the State.
Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Uchangidurga, Shivani, Thondebhavi 8 each, Kiravatti, Mudibidre 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kalghatgi, Yegati, Hiriyur, Chitradurga 6 each, Humchadakatte, Bangalore Airport, Bangalore City 5 each, Puttur, Kota, Yellapura, Kundagol, Shirahatti, Shikaripur, Santhebennur, Bellary 4 each, Mani, Shiggaon, Haveri, Madapura, Anavatti, Bhadravathi, Bangarpet, Channapatna, Kudligi 3 each.
Maximum temperatures fell at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. They were below normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka.
Minimum temperatures changed little and were normal over the State. Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 35.1 Degree Celsius and Mysore recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17.8 Degree Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.
Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Local forecast: Generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers. Maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 29 Degree Celsius and 19 Degree Celsius respectively.
