Kasuri for Pak Afghan peace talks after elections

Islamabad, Oct 21 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri has conveyed to Afghan President Hamid Karzai that the next Pakistan and Afghanistan joint peace jirga would be held in Pakistan after the general elections.

Mr Kasuri was in Herat in Afganistan yesterday to attend the 17th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Council of Ministers Meeting when the Afghan President called on him, reported daily times.

''Terrorism and extremism is the common enemy of the two countries and Afghanistan can be Pakistan's best partner in the fight against it,'' said the Afgan President while condemning the act of terrorism in Karachi on October 18 Earlier the Afghan President had condoled the loss of innocent lives in Karachi blast in a telephone conversation with President Pervez Musharraf.
