India's first independent Forensic Lab launched

Hyderabad, Oct 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari today launched India's first independent private Forensic Lab 'Truth Labs', established by former Forensic Science Laboratory Director of the state, K P S Gandhi and other forensic science experts.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Tiwari said 'Truth Labs'symbolises the need for public-private-partnership in all the spheres of activity.

''There is also the need to have forensic services to keep the coman man safe and secure. It assures a law-abiding citizen, support from public or private sector to lead a secure life,'' he added.

State Home Minister K Jana Reddy said the Lab would also help other states in crime detection.

Observing, that the need for the forensic labs had increased as it solves family and property disputes also, he said the pool of experienced forensic experts would help to improve efficiency and competency in future.

Mr Gandhi said six more laboratories would be set up in other parts of the country including Kolkata, Chandigarh and North-Eastern states. These labs would be commissioned in six months.
