Idols immersed in Umkhrah and Ganol river

Shillong, Oct 21 (UNI) The week-long Durga Puja celebrations concluded here today with the immersion of idols in the Umkhrah and Ganol river in Meghalaya.

Nearly 100 idols of Goddesses Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati, and Ganesha and Kartick were taken in a procession through the streets before being immersed in the river.

A procession was taken out by Central Puja Committee before the idols were immersed. Several Bengali associations had organised cultural programmes during the week-long celebrations.
