Jammu, Oct 21 (UNI) The BJP today hailed Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha for returning the Right to information (Amendment) Bill, 2007, to the State Cabinet for reconsideration.

BJP spokesman Ramesh Arora, in a statement, alleged that the Congress-PDP led government had tried that documents and information should remain beyond the approach of common masses.

''Hence the stand of the Governor should be taken seriously and the state government should try to adopt the different provision of the Central Act and should not return the Bill which is an eye-wash only,'' he said.

Mr Arora demanded Section 5 and other provisions of the Central Right to Information Act be incorporated in the Bill in order to make the working government transparent and corruption free.
