Chandigarh, Oct 20 (UNI) During the present regime, revenue has increased by 20 per cent in the State and efforts were being made to increase it up to 25 per cent, Haryana Finance, Minister Birender Singh said today.
With better management, the revenue receipts were expected to be about 13,000 crore in the State, he said while addressing mediapersons at Bhiwani today.
Replying to a question, Mr Singh said the government had directed the excise and taxation officers to take stringent measures to check the evasion of tax.
He said the raids had been carried out during the last few days on the business premises and heavy tax evasion had been detected.
The Haryana government has invited suggestions from the public so that the excise and taxation policy could be made more transparent and the monopoly of wine contractors could be checked, he said.
In reply to another query, he said with a view to providing pace of development and making more responsive to the empoyees, Administrative Reforms Commission had been constituted.
He assured that paucity of funds would not come in the way to implement developmental works in the State and developmental works were being made without any discrimination in the State.
While referring the power problem in the State, he said the power project of 4,500 MW were being constructed in the State and during next two or three years Haryana would be self reliant in the power sector.
The Minister said Bhindawas lake would be renovated and water was being filled in so that the level of water could be balanced.
He said BML Hansi Butana Multi Purpose Canal would provide irrigation facilties to those districts who were not getting their due share of water.
