Kozhikode, Oct 20 (UNI) Flight operations at Karippur International Airport in Kerala were disrupted today due to incessant rains lashing the State during the past 24 hours.
Officiating Airport Director V P Chinson told UNI that incoming flights were diverted to nearby airports, including Chennai and Kochi, as it could not be landed due to poor visibility caused by heavy rains.
Landing and take off operations would be resumed only after weather conditions get normal, he said.
Air India and Indian sources said as many as eight flights to various destinations, including Jeddah, were delayed inordinately due to inclement weather.
Seven incoming flights from various centres were also diverted to nearby airports for safe landing, they added.
