Moore surges ahead in Arizona Open

By Staff

MIAMI, Oct 20 (Reuters) Ryan Moore produced a superb seven-under-par second round of 63 to surge into a three-shot lead at the Arizona Open.

The 24-year-old Moore, who has never won a PGA tour event, fired eight birdies at Scottsdale to lead fellow American Ben Crane, Japan's Daisuke Maruyama and Australian Mark Hensby.

World number two Phil Mickelson failed to make the cut along with former PGA Championship winner John Daly yesterday.

Overnight leader Michael Allen dropped down the leaderboard after firing a one-over-par 71.
