Nagpur, Oct 20: Mumbai-based Mantri Realty will set up two shopping malls and a 100-room business hotel as part of its Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology enabled Services (ITES) park project near the city.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the project at Butibori, about 30 kilometres from here today, Mantri Realty Managing Director Sunil Mantri said that 'Mantri Matrix'would be the first integrated IT/ITES park in the city.
The park, expected to cost Rs 780 crore, would include a swimming pool, a gymnasium, an open-air banquet, a food court, an oxygen parlour and an amphitheatre, he said.
It was being constructed on 44 acres of land and would have 40 lakh square feet of floor space, Mr Mantri said. The park would consist of 17 environment-friendly buildings in landscaped surroundings, he said. A total of 50,000 people could work there once it was completed, he added.
The foundation stone for the project was laid at the hands of Rajya Sabha member and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Datta Meghe in the presence of Maharashtra Minister for Animal Husbandry Anees Ahmed, NCP legislator Ramesh Bang and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit President Nitin Gadkari.
The appointment of model and film actress Radhika Menon as the 'brand ambassador' of Mantri Realty was also announced on the occasion.
