Gurdwara Saheb appeals to celebrate Guru Gaddi Divas in Nanded

Patna, Oct 20 (UNI) The Shiromani Gurdwara Sewadar Committee (SGSC) today urged the Centre and SGSC, Amritsar, to celebrate the third anniversary of ''Guru Gaddi Diwas'' of Guru Granth Sahib in October next year at Sri Hazur Sahib at Nanded in Maharashtra.

SGSC president (ladies) Bibi Ravinder Kaur said in a press statement here today that a meeting of the SGSC was held at Takhat Sri Patna Sahib and the decision was taken unanimously by the members.

She also urged that the Centre should arrange a special helicopter to carry the holy book of Guru Granth Sahib from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo in Punjab to Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib at Nanded Maharashtra.

''We invite the followers of all religions to celebrate unitedly this auspicious day and preach the universal message of brotherhood and love,'' she said.

Bidar Sewadar Committee president S Bachan Singh said the Gurudwara ''Nanak Jheera'' at Bidar in Andhra Pradesh should be governed by the Gurudwara Act and handed over to the Shriomani Committee, Amritsar.

The Sewadar Committee also urged the Bihar government to clean the area in and around the Patna Gurdwara Sahib keeping in view the large number of worshippers from across the country.
