New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) Deputy Mayor S S Bajwa was today admitted to the Apollo hospital in a critical condition after he fell from the terrace of his house in East Delhi, an MCD spokesperson said.
Mr Bajwa was sitting on the balcony of his house in Savita Vihar near Anand Vihar when the sudden appearance of a few monkeys there led to his fall, he said.
He was admitted to the Apollo hospital with serious head injuries.
''Mr Bajwa has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where his condition is being constantly monitored,''Mr Bajwa's personal secretary Pawan Bhaskar said.
Several BJP leaders visited the hospital to inquire about the well being of Mr Bajwa.
Among those who paid a visit to the hospital were Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi, BJP leader Vijay Goel, Mayor Aarti Mehra, Leader of the MCD House Subhash Arya, Chairman of the Standing Committee Vijender Gupta, Leader of the Opposition in the MCD House Jaikishen Sharma and other BJP MLAs and councillors.
Senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra was also expected to pay a visit to the hospital later in the day.
About 70 to 80 MCD councillors had visited the hospital since morning.
