Jalandhar, Oct 20 (UNI) With an aim to ensure education for all, the Central Government has sanctioned a grant of Rs 21,000 crore for Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan during the current financial year.
Field Publicity Officer Balwinder Attri while addressing a seminar at Government Senior Secondary School, Mithapur in the district, said that Punjab would get Rs 250 crore for Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan whereas Rs 175 crore were granted to the state last year. He said that under this campaign, children are being provided healthy environment for education after developing the infrastucture in the schools.
Earlier, Field Publicity Assistant Kavish Dutt while addressing a seminar at Government Elementry School, Garah here said that from next financial year, mid-day meal scheme would be extended and students upto eight class would start getting mid-day meal. ''Till now 12 crore children of primary schools are being provided mid-day meal,'' he added.
