The
money
and
glamour
associated
with
breeding
horses
and
racing
them
is
luring
many
farmers
in
Punjab
to
this
trade.
The success of big players like Tegbir Brar of Muktsar who have been breeding horses for the past three decades has also lured many smaller farmers to enter the arena. Brar's family started with just two mares in 1973 and now their farm boasts of about 100 mares, half a dozen stallions, and 75 foals.
