Kochi, Oct 19 (UNI) A petition was filed today before the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court seeking a direction to the CBI to submit to the court the results of the narco-analysis tests in the Sister Abhaya Case.

Petitioner Jomon Puthepurackal also sought a direction to the CBI to file a detailed progress report on its investigation into the case and produce the original work book of the post-mortem.

The case relates to the death of Sister Abhaya, an inmate of the Pious Tenth Convent Hostel at Kottayam, whose dead body was found in a well in the convent premises on the March 27, 1992.

The petitioner alleged that though the CBI took over the case as early as on 1993, no worthwhile investigation had been conducted ''presumably because of the influence and clout commanded by those involved in the crime.'' The petitioner contended he had already brought to the notice of the CBI, alleged tampering in the original post-mortem work book at the chemical examiners laboratory in Thiruvanthapuram. The book had been sent to Hyderabad, for forensic analysis.

Narco-analysis tests were conducted on Sister Seffy and Sister Sherly, batchmates of Sister Abhaya and two priests -- Father Jose Puthrukayil, a Malayalam professor at the convent and Father Thomas Kottoor, a psychology professor and Diocesan of the Knanaya Catholic Church.

A former police official, Mr V V Augustine, who investigated the murder and closed it as a case of suicide also underwent brain mapping test earlier.
