Planning Commission to start road traffic survey in Punjab

Chandigarh, Oct 19 (UNI) To ascertain the volume of goods and passenger traffic in Punjab, the Planning Commission of India is conducting 2nd round of ''Total Transport System Study'' in the State from October 23.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Punjab government said the second round of survey would be conducted from October 23 to Oct 25 for 48 hours in 12 districts namely Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mansa, Patiala, SAS Nagar, Sangrur and Muktsar at 29 check posts and from October 23 to October 30 in SAS Nagar at one check post. The survey, he said, would start at 1400 hrs on the 1st day and end at 1400hrs on the last day.
