Three top officers of KIW in vigilance net

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (UNI) The Orissa vigilance department has registered corruption cases against three top officers of the state owned Kalinga Iron Works Limited Matkambeda, Barbil in Keonjhar district.

Vigilance department sources here said a case was registered against the officials under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and 120-B of IPC for selecting contractor for transportation and loading of pig iron during 2006-07 overlooking the terms and conditions of the work order.

The officials were company's Senior Manager (Commerce) Manas Ranjan Sarangi,Senior Manager (Finance) Haren Mohan Das and former Managing Director Amiya Kumar Padhi and Contractor Tushar Mohanty.

It was alleged that these officials had accepted the tender of Mr Mohanty and awarded him the work at a high rate thereby giving him pecuniary advantage to the tune of Rest 45.15 lakh.
