Srinagar, Oct 18 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah today attacked the PDP leaders for demanding troop withdrawal from the state, asking them to first surrender their personal security and then seek reduction in armed forces.
''Those demanding withdrawal of armed forces from Jammu and Kashmir should first surrender their personal security and bullet proof vehicles besides removing troops (security guards) from their houses,'' he told a news conference here.
''Only then, I will stand and support you in your demand for troop withdrawal from Jammu and Kashmir. Till then, I will never think of supporting your demand,'' Dr Abdullah said, apparently referring to the PDP leadership.
The NC patron asserted there would be no reduction in troops in Jammu and Kashmir, but some kind of re-deployment of armed forces.
''We want re-deployment. That is very necessary. Security forces have occupied our schools, government offices, hospitals, hostels and playgrounds. It is important to vacate the security places from these places,'' he added.
