Missing Flt. Lt Jamir traced in Mizoram, IAF police rushes to Aizwal

Shillong, Oct 18 (UNI) Flight Lieutenant Nokdenpong Jamir, who disappeared from the Indian Air Force administrative college in Coimbatore, has been traced from Seling area in Mizoram, Air Force officials here said today.

The missing Air Force official from Mokokchung district of Nagaland was traced yesterday from Seling village, about 35 Km from Aizwal, the state capital of Mizoram after the relatives of Jamir alerted the Mizoram Police.

A team of Air Force Police from the Eastern Air Command headquarters has left for Aizwal to get back Jamir from Mizoram police.

Presently, the 26-year-old Air Force official from Nagaland is under the detention at Bawngkawn police station.

''Flight Lieutenant Jamir will be brought to the Eastern Air Command headquarters for questioning for his sudden disappearance from Coimbatore,'' Defence spokesman Wing Commander R K S Sisodia told UNI here today.

The Air Force official from Nagaland had gone to Coimbatore in the first week of October from Mohanbari Air Force Base in Dibrugarh district of Assam to participate in a 21-day training course at the IAF administrative college in the textile city of western Tamil Nadu.

''The Air Force will find out the reasons how he landed up in Mizoram from Coimbatore,'' the spokesman said.

The IAF has formed a special investigating team to trace the officer. Ft Lt Jamir has been with the Unit 127 of IAF for the last one year.
