Pathanamthitta, Oct 17 (UNI) Kerala Devaswam Minister G Sudhakaran today accused Travancore Devaswam Board officials of ''lacking sincerity and being adept in taking the government for a ride.'' He claimed that they failed to rise to the expectations of the government. The officials always acted against the Devaswam Boards, the Minister said during a review meeting of district officials in connection with the forthcoming Sabarimala annual pilgrimage.
Mr Sudhakaran said he knew nothing about the present stage of 'Pampa Action Plan'.
The non-implementation of the plan was the result of the ''unholy nexus'' between the Forest Department and Devaswam Board. Their open conflict was a strategy designed to do nothing worthwhile, the minister alleged.
He recalled that 350 acres of forest land were handed over to the Board in October last to implement the plan. Following the Cabinet approval, a high-power committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, was constituted for the implementation of the plan.
In addition, the Chief Minister himself had deputed two engineers in this regard. But, the Board had evinced no interest in employing them, Mr Sudhakaran said.
Quoting Paripoornan Commission's observations, he warned that all erring Devaswam officials would be arrested.
