Lucknow, Oct 18 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party today alleged that the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh was pressurising the IPS officers, suspended in the alleged police recruitment scam, to falsely implicate party leaders in the matter.
Leader of the opposition in the UP legislative council and senior SP leader Ahmad Hasan alleged the state government was exerting pressure by issuing threats and offerriing inducements to the suspended IPS officers to name party leaders in the matter, so that false FIRs could be registered against them.
''This is part of a well hatched conspiracy and the Mayawati regime is resorting to every trick to implicate SP leaders,'' Mr Hasan added.
He claimed false cases had been registered against almost 10,000 SP leaders and activists, since the Mayawati government was formed in May this year.
''Our party will face the situation bravely and expose the nefarious designs of the Mayawati government,'' he underlined.
