Puducherry, Oct 18 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu 'Islamiya Ilakkiya Kazhagam' today urged the territorial administration to provide separate reservation for minorities in the union territory emulating the neighbouring state.
The 'Kazhagam' functionaries President Ameer Ali, Treasurer Shajahan and Advisor Abdul Rehman called on Chief Minister N Rangasamy at his office and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
Puducherry Education Minister M O H F Shajahan also accompanied them.
Accepting the memorandum, Mr Rangasamy said the administration had already adopted a unanimous resolution in the legislative assembly in this regard and forwarded it to the Centre for concurrence. It had written to the Centre again after the Tamil Nadu government implemented the Reservation, he said, adding he hoped that the Centre would grant permission soon and reservation would be implemented here also.
