Mumbai, Oct 18 (UNI) UK-based British Airways today unveiled its new business class, the new-look club world, which is more than a cabin in the aircraft.
The Cabin is being rolled out across the airline's fleet and passengers travelling from India will be able to experience the new seat on some flight, when they fly with British Airways, said Amanda Amos, Airline's Commercial Manager (South Asia) while unvieling the new seat at a media-meet here today.
''I am really excited to be sharing the details of the new seat with the Indian market. We are giving our customers what they want, not gimmicks and gadgets, but an environment that is comfortable, flexible and private, with service that anticipates their every need,'' she said.
The Airline claimed that the new cabin combined elements from the home and business to create a sleek, yet comfortable environment as they undertook a number of integral changes to the cabin, which included new wider and more comfortable seats with with new 'Z' bed position, great privacy, more storage, club kitchen, audio and video on demand.
''British Airways has set the industry benchmark with the launch of the first flat bed for business customers in 2000. We are constantly striving to innovate and improve our new Club World flat bed, which has re-established our position as market leader,'' she added.
At present, more than three quarters of British Airways Boeing 747 fleet have been fitted with the new cabin. The 100 million UK pound overhaul of Club World is part of an investment programme in the airline's products and services that includes enhancement to its first class cabin and the introduction of an on-demand in-flight entertainment system in every cabin across the long-haul flights.
The airline, with a world-wide network of 145 destinations across 70 countries, flies two flights from Mumbai to London daily.
