On Board Air India One, Oct 18 (UNI) In his first sharp attack against the Opposition BJP for demanding his resignation on the uncertainty over the Indo-US Nuclear deal due to pressure from the supporting Left parties, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the saffron party was the ''least qualified'' to talk about his moral right to govern.
''Look at the holocaust that took place in Gujarat, it took place when Leader of the Opposition L K Advani was the Home Minister in the Atal Behari Vajpayee government...he gave certificates to the Gujarat government,'' he said on board his special aircraft on way back after winding up his five-day visit to Nigeria and South Africa.
''And we all know the massacre took place in Gujarat under the BJP. So they did not think of their moral right to govern on that occasion.'' Referring to the unsuccessful Agra Summit with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraff, Dr Singh said, ''What about the fiasco in regard to the Agra Summit that collapsed under the BJP regime.'' Making a mention of the Kargil war during the BJP-led NDA government, the Prime Minister said, ''We all know why the war in Kargil took place. The infiltrators were sneaking into our country and the government in New Delhi was sleeping.'' ''So I think the BJP is the least qualified to talk about our moral right to govern,'' Dr Singh said.
