TDP shedding crocodile tears on farm sector: Congress
Hyderabad, Oct 17 (UNI) Alleging that the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government neglected the agriculture sector, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee's (APCC) Kisan Mazdoor Congress today criticised the TDP of shedding crocodile tears by demanding hike in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
According to an open letter, that released to the press here, Kisan Mazdoor Congress Chairman M Kodanda Reddy said the TDP and the BJP-led NDA had ignored the plight of farmers during their regime and were now talking about the welfare of farmers to gain political mileage.
Stating that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was taking all possible measures to increase farm output and improve the farmers' living standards, he alleged that TDP president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was tryng to woo the farmers by making 'false' promises to come back to power in the next elections.
