New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) President of the Indian Justice Party Udit Raj today alleged that the Principal of the St Stephen's college Valson Thampu was being harrassed and salary and allowances due to him as member of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions being denied.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Udit Raj alleged that the Chairman of the Commission M S A Siddique had stopped Mr Thampu's salary and allowances from May 21 till September 11, when he quit the commission.

''This happened despite the fact that as member of the Commission, Thampu had applied for leave to become OSD in St Stephen's college.

Also, while serving at St Stephen's, he kept attending meetings of the Commission.

Yet, the Chairman of the Commisison kept harrassing him by serving notices and objections. Valson Thampu did not draw salary from St Stephen's till he resigned from the Commission,''Mr Udit Raj said at the press meet, also addressed by Swami Agniwesh of the Arya Samaj.

''He took up the assignment of OSD in St Stephen's with permisison of the Chairman. Then, why was he denied his salary and allowances, which amount to over Rs two lakhs,''Mr Udit Raj demanded and called upon Union HRD minister and Delhi University Vice Chancellor Arjun Singh intervene in the matter.

''If the harrassment of Mr Thampu is not stopped, we will be to launch agitation against M S A Siddique and former St Stephen's principal Anil Wilson,'' he said.
