Maverick Prod enters mobile/digital content ind with DNS Network

Mumbai, Oct 17 (UNI) Television actor Anuj Saxena's Maverick Productions Pvt Ltd has entered into the new business segment of mobile and digital content with DNS Network Services Pvt Ltd.

For this, Maverick Productions Pvt Ltd and DNS Network Services Pvt Ltd have entered into a joint venture to float a new division, Maverick Mobile Content Pvt Ltd, The new division kickstarted with a new album, 'Deepawali Aayi Re', featuring five crescendo artistes and songs that celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. The album is being distributed by Virgin Records (India) Pvt Ltd.

Speaking to reporters here yesterday, Anuj Saxena said ''Mobile entertainment content demand is increasing. It is a natural progression for a production house like Maverick to find new growth opportunities and expand. Diwali is a big festival, so it is the best choice to enter the market with the Diwali album.'' The songs in the video are predominantly Hindi, featuring four other Indian languages and English. The video conceived by Shiraz Bhattacharya is heavily composited with computer effects, graphics and lots of colours.

Saxena launched the production company in March 2005.

It is currently producing Viveck Vaswani's film 'Dulha Mil Gaya' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2008.

Till now, Maverick has produced more than 20 advertising films, the prominent ones include Tiger Balm white, Blistix Lip care balm, AMPM Mouth Wash and Fair One Fairness Cream, besides daily soap 'Kulvaddhu' for Sony and a show 'Khiladi No 1' for Zee Smile and documentaries, the first one being on child birth.
